Painting 1
Here are my practice pictures and reference for my painting. The bottom two are drawings done with prismacolor pencil, and the top right is a practice oil painting on canvas paper. In progress: I started by drawing out my shapes in white prismacolor pencil then going in and adding the bright and medium whites. I did the base of the bottle label and adding some greys and black. I started on adding some color, starting with the pink glass and moving up to the blue round glass, and lastly the green whiskey bottle. After it dried, I went through and added a few more colors to the ones down already so it didn't look all uniform. I added the words on the label, as well as the foggy white on the bottle and on the blue glass. Here is my final painting, I think It turned out pretty well. I wish I would have made some of the brushstrokes not show up, but i think it kinda makes a nice style. I also wish the pink glass looked a little smoother and glass-like. Other then that I think it looks good. I like how the label and the blue glass turned out, and I like the whiskey bottle as well.

Here are my progress pictures and my reference. As you can tell it went through alot of changes, many of them not shown in the couple pictures I remembered to take. His name is BJ. I lost interest in this project. It was getting really irritating to me that i couldn't get the right colors for the face and the repetition of the fur was making my wrist hurt. It was easy to make the fur-like texture, and get the fur to flow in the direction that I wanted it to. I originally chose the background because this painting was going to be a gift to a family friend because it is her cat, and her favorite colors are blue and purple. (I never gave it to her.) I do like how the eyes came out, I could have toned down the brightness a little bit but overall they look fine. The whole painting is kinda a mess and I never found the inspiration to actually finish it which sucks, but is what it is. Maybe one day I'll find it.
Here are a few of the reference pictures that I used for my piece. I took elements from each of them to create an original landscape. I used the mountains from the first picture, the land underneath from the second and lastly the water from the last picture. My process was pretty simple, starting with washing the canvas and sketching out the shapes. I did the grass, water, and sky first because they were main parts of the background(the grass is behind the trees). I then went onto the white of the mountains and added greenery to the sides to show each mountain. I then added the smaller details to the peaks and started on the fall trees on the bottom. Final Piece - Fall PeaksI am pretty satisfied with my final product. I love how the mountain peaks look, and how they look like they really pop out from the sky. I also really like how the reflection in the water turned out because I haven't had much practice with them but it still looks good. I would have definitely took more time with the trees and make them loo better for the POV I was trying to achieve. It looked too much of a birds eye view while you can still see the sides of the mountains. i should have payed more attention but overall I think It looks pretty good. I didn't like having to wait for the paint to dry before working on certain parts, but it was easy over the weekends to hop right into what I wanted to do.
These are a couple of the reference pictures and sketches I had for my Hundertwasser painting. I really liked the crowded pieces with a lot going on and a lot of colours. I wanted to do something similar, giving people lots of stuff to look at in the piece.
Here I have some practice and techniques we went over in class. I overworked some of the spaces in the color grid, but other then that I think these helped me get the hang of watercolours before doing my piece. Here I have some of my in-progress pictures of my flower piece, as well as my reference picture. I definitely overworked parts of the piece but I think it turned out pretty well in the end. Final Painting
For one of my watercolour paintings, I decided to do a landscape picture a friend of mine had taken. I feel like I could have done much better on this, I used too many layers and overworked a few parts of the piece including parts of the water.
I decided to draw strawberries with the prisma colored pencils. I feel like it came out super good, especially the color and depth of the leaves.
