Here are a few of the reference pictures that I used for my piece. I took elements from each of them to create an original landscape. I used the mountains from the first picture, the land underneath from the second and lastly the water from the last picture. My process was pretty simple, starting with washing the canvas and sketching out the shapes. I did the grass, water, and sky first because they were main parts of the background(the grass is behind the trees). I then went onto the white of the mountains and added greenery to the sides to show each mountain. I then added the smaller details to the peaks and started on the fall trees on the bottom. Final Piece - Fall PeaksI am pretty satisfied with my final product. I love how the mountain peaks look, and how they look like they really pop out from the sky. I also really like how the reflection in the water turned out because I haven't had much practice with them but it still looks good. I would have definitely took more time with the trees and make them loo better for the POV I was trying to achieve. It looked too much of a birds eye view while you can still see the sides of the mountains. i should have payed more attention but overall I think It looks pretty good. I didn't like having to wait for the paint to dry before working on certain parts, but it was easy over the weekends to hop right into what I wanted to do.
