Painting 1
Here are my practice pictures and reference for my painting. The bottom two are drawings done with prismacolor pencil, and the top right is a practice oil painting on canvas paper. In progress: I started by drawing out my shapes in white prismacolor pencil then going in and adding the bright and medium whites. I did the base of the bottle label and adding some greys and black. I started on adding some color, starting with the pink glass and moving up to the blue round glass, and lastly the green whiskey bottle. After it dried, I went through and added a few more colors to the ones down already so it didn't look all uniform. I added the words on the label, as well as the foggy white on the bottle and on the blue glass. Here is my final painting, I think It turned out pretty well. I wish I would have made some of the brushstrokes not show up, but i think it kinda makes a nice style. I also wish the pink glass looked a little smoother and glass-like. Other then that I think it looks good. I like how the label and the blue glass turned out, and I like the whiskey bottle as well.

Here are my progress pictures and my reference. As you can tell it went through alot of changes, many of them not shown in the couple pictures I remembered to take. His name is BJ. I lost interest in this project. It was getting really irritating to me that i couldn't get the right colors for the face and the repetition of the fur was making my wrist hurt. It was easy to make the fur-like texture, and get the fur to flow in the direction that I wanted it to. I originally chose the background because this painting was going to be a gift to a family friend because it is her cat, and her favorite colors are blue and purple. (I never gave it to her.) I do like how the eyes came out, I could have toned down the brightness a little bit but overall they look fine. The whole painting is kinda a mess and I never found the inspiration to actually finish it which sucks, but is what it is. Maybe one day I'll find it.
